Some Common Questions
Is there an age limit?
Yes, all jumpers must be at least 18 years old.
How high is the jump?
We take our plane to 10,000 feet above the ground. For tandem jumpers, this gives about 30 seconds of free fall, and about a 5 minute canopy ride. This may seem like a very short amount of time, or the longest moment of your life! Everyone experiences it a little differently.
How fast is the free fall?
An average of 195 km/hr.
How long does it take?
For tandems, please plan on spending 2-3 hours with us, and possibly more depending on your group size. For First Jump Course, plan on spending about 4 hours ground school followed by your first jump. Friday evening First Jump Courses usually require the jump to be delayed until Saturday morning.
What do I wear?
Comfortable clothes and secure shoes. We will provide you with a jumpsuit, helmet, and goggles.
Is it scary?
Yes, but in a good way! If skydiving is something you have always wanted to try, it will be a thrill! A little bit of apprehension is normal, after all, it isn’t something most people do every day.
What if the parachute malfunctions?
Skydiving parachute systems are equipped with a series of back ups that include a reserve parachute and an automatic activation device. This, combined with the knowledge base of your instructor and the training you receive if you are a First Jump Course student, provides solutions to most problems that are commonly encountered. That being said, we acknowledge there is inherent risk in everything we do in this world and that there is no perfect system. Our priority is the safety of all our jumpers.
